So....since I haven't really been baking anything, I thought I would just pop in here and give a little update on the garden. This is my first garden and I am super excited with the produce that I have gotten from it and what I am still getting. The picture above is what I harvested today. I planted cucumbers, spinach, squash, zucchini, green beans, okra, brussel sprouts and tomatoes. The spinach didn't make it and the squash and zucchini are about done too. The okra is just now starting...and I really don't know what to expect with the brussel sprouts. I have never seen them grown, so it is a watch and see kind of thing.

I have enjoyed everything in my garden..from tilling the ground to planting the seeds. Watching them sprout and now getting to harvest. My kids have enjoyed it and it makes me happy to see that they are eating from our back yard. It is such a good feeling to know that we grew it and there was nothing harmful added to it. If you have ever watched Food Inc., then you know what I am talking about.

I am already planning next years garden and planning to expand it. I would highly suggest to anyone to is questioning the idea of a garden...do it! The benefits from it....well, it just makes you smile!

I hope everyone is having a great Summer! My kids head back to school in about 3 weeks..so we are enjoying every last minute that we can!

Awesome!!!! Your stuff looks great. I am getting an insane amount of tomatoes in my garden. Got some zucchini, cucumbers and other stuff. They are definitely dominating everything else (bell peppers, butternut squash, zucchini) Once I started getting stuff from the garden, I stopped taking pictures and baking. Hmmm. I need to get back to that.

Okra! I love fried okra. Your haul looks fantastic, better than a lot of folks here, due to lack of rain. Great job girl.

Enjoy the last few weeks of summer with your kids. I can't believe it's back to school time already. Looks like your first garden was a big success. Congrats.

Hi, April! Wow! Babygirl planted a garden but nothing like yours. Just a small garden with tomatoes and a pepper plant but it never took. After seeing yours and enjoying ours we're going to up it next year too.

Hope you guys have a great summer!

Oh, sorry I meant to say a small herb garden with tomatoes. We have about 7 or 8 herb plants. Basil is the only one that didn't do so well but the others are growing like weeds! :)

I'm curious. What did you use to keep the bugs away and any critters?

I've wondered about your garden and looks like it did great. Mine is little and just starting to produce. Got some beans and a few tomatoes but wont get alot till August.

You had to go say those dreaded words *Back to School* I'm not in any hurry! We dont start till August 16th. I'll be on a 2 week vacation at the beach up untill that Sunday. Monday will suck! :)
